Projects

Many issues face north shore businesses on a daily basis.  Here is your opportunity to get involved and make a difference in what happens to our beautiful Garden Island.  In the past, some of the projects that KNSBC has taken an active role in include:

  • Initiated growth of the Kauai Plastic Recycling Project.  The plastic recycling project, which began in 1999, helped plant the seed for recycling on the north shore and ultimately all Kauai.
  • Held job trade fairs in Hanalei.  These networking events exposed local businesses to potential clients as well as to each other.
  • Promoted the health & wellness industry--before an annual health & wellness event exsisted on island--at its General Membership Meeting at Guava Kai Plantation.
  • Sponsered a meeting at the Church of the Pacific to discuss bypass alternatives that would affect travel to the north shore.
  • Hosted the Hawaii Home Ownership Program on the north shore.  This event provided consultation services for first-time home buyers to help them qualify for affordable housing funding in the future.  The north shore event achieved the largest attendance of the 5 events held island wide.
